Audi has unveiled the all-new 2025 A5, a sporty sedan that takes the place of the beloved A4. This bold move streamlines Audi’s lineup, with even numbers signifying electric vehicles and odd numbers representing gasoline-powered options.

Models & Trims At A Glance

While specifics are still being finalised, the new A5 will likely be offered in two body styles: four-door sedan and estate. Audi might launch only the sedan in the UAE. However, a faster version of the sedan the S5 will be available for enthusiasts.

Exterior Design

Compared to the A4, the 2025 A5 boasts a more aggressive and aerodynamic design. The signature single-frame Audi grille takes centre stage, adopting a wider and lower stance for a more planted look.

Sharp, narrow headlights flank the grille, while a sloping roofline accentuates the sporty character. A range of wheel sizes will be available, from 17 inches to 20 inches, depending on the trim level.

Interior Design

Slide into the driver’s seat of the new A5, and you’ll be greeted by a luxurious and driver-centric cabin. High-quality materials like leather and soft-touch plastics create a sophisticated ambience, while a clean and clutter-free layout enhances ergonomics.

Technology

The new A5 shares its tech with the Q6 e-tron. The large curved screen incorporates an 11.9-inch digital driver display and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. The infotainment houses all the climate control and seat heating/ventilation functions.

2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder: This versatile engine will be available in two states of tune: 150hp and 204hp. The powerful variant offers a sportier driving experience and can be paired with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system for enhanced traction.
2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder diesel: This oil burner delivers 204hp and benefits from Audi’s MHEV Plus technology for improved efficiency and reduced emissions.
3.0-liter V6 (S5 only): The high-performance S5 variant will likely pack a punch with a 3.0-liter V6 engine mated to the MHEV Plus system, pushing out an impressive 367hp.

Transmission:

All engine options are likely to be paired with a smooth-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG). This transmission offers a blend of comfort and performance, delivering quick and efficient gear changes.

MHEV Plus System:

Audi’s new MHEV Plus technology elevates the A5’s efficiency and performance. This system incorporates two motor generators and here are its benefits:

By capturing energy during braking and coasting, the MHEV Plus system reduces the load on the engine, leading to better fuel efficiency.
The electric motor provides an extra boost of torque, enhancing acceleration and overall driving feel.
The MHEV Plus system ensures a seamless restart of the engine during stop-start cycles.

Suspension & Handling

The suspension has been specifically tuned to prioritise precise handling and a more connected feel between the driver and the road. This steering system is designed to provide a more natural and responsive feel, especially during cornering.

A4 Getting Discontinued

The arrival of the new A5 marks the end of the Audi A4 sedan’s illustrious journey. The A5 effectively merges the A4’s practicality with a sportier design, potentially appealing to a broader range of buyers seeking a luxury sedan with a touch of athleticism.

New S5 At A Glance

The high-performance sibling of the A5, the S5, is also expected to receive a refresh alongside the A5. While details are scarce, anticipate a more aggressive design, featuring unique front and rear bumpers, aerodynamic elements, and larger wheels.

New Audi A5 In The UAE

The new A5 will face stiff competition in the crowded luxury sedan segment. These include the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS and the Genesis G70.

Once launched, the new A5 is expected to be priced between AED 180,000 to AED 230,000 for the top-spec S5 model. The A5 with its larger proportions and a host of powertrain options, the new A5 is sure to hold its own in the segment.
