American automaker GMC has officially launched the Hummer EV SUV and pick-up in the UAE. According to the local dealership in Dubai, both models are sold in a single colour and variant with prices starting at AED 697,000.

Bookings and deliveries for the Hummer EV are underway on the brand’s official website. The Hummer EV SUV is available in green, while the pick-up is available only in white exterior colour.

Drivability Features
The Hummer EV is loaded with features to tackle tough off-road situations. It has a height-adjustable suspension that can be raised significantly to clear obstacles and go through water.
It also includes a one-pedal mode for braking by letting go of the accelerator pedal, a terrain mode that integrates braking for rock crawling, and a regen-on-demand function for braking and maximising battery range. Finally, the 4-wheel steering system allows the vehicle to move diagonally or crabwalk for exceptional manoeuvrability in tight spots.
The Hummer electric also comes with “Watts to Freedom” mode that unleashes its full power, launching the Supertruck from 0-100 km/h in an incredible 3 seconds and the SUV in a still-impressive 3.5 seconds.
Exterior Design
The Hummer EV SUV and pick-up share the exterior design except for the rear bed on the latter. The design stays true to the classic Hummer look, with a boxy silhouette and flat panels. A distinctive light strip with the Hummer lettering sets the tone, along with LED headlights.
Blacked-out GMC badge, tow hooks, and high ground clearance hint at its off-road capability. The roof can be completely removed for a true open-top experience on both models.

Interiors
Unlike the gasoline Hummer, which lacked creature comforts, GMC has packed the electric version with features. The luxurious interior feels premium decked in leather and soft-touch materials all around.
The SUV comfortably seats five adults with ample legroom and headroom. The special Edition 1 features unique graphics on the floor mats and speaker grilles that nod to the vehicle’s rapid development.

- The Edition 1 models were in high demand and sold out very quickly, in some cases within minutes of pre-orders opening.
- The Edition 1 is equipped with the most powerful tri-motor configuration, boasting 1,000hp.
- It comes with the Extreme Off-Road Package with features like 35-inch mud-terrain tyres, skid plates, rock sliders, and increased ground clearance for tackling tough terrain.
- Edition 1 featured special badging, trim options, and paint colours to set them apart from the standard models.

The Hummer EV twins rival the Tesla Cybertruck, Tesla Model X, Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1S and R1T; among others in the UAE. Priced at around AED 700,000, these two EVs are priced high in the pricing bracket. However, they have the performance and features to justify the steep price tag.
