History
GAC Group launched the mid-size crossover SUV, Trumpchi GS8, in China in 2016. It also spawned a smaller 5-seater variant called the Trumpchi GS7.
In April 2020, GAC (Trumpchi’s parent company) unveiled a facelifted version of the Trumpchi GS7 and renamed it the Trumpchi GS8S. Later in 2021, they introduced the second generation GS8, boasting an increase in length, width, and wheelbase compared to the first generation model.
