Just one year ago, the Audi R8 LMS made its grand debut at the world’s toughest track, the infamous Nordschilfe, 12 months later Audi wants to share the victory with a select few individuals with the Audi R8 Selection 24h.
Limited to just 24 units, each model carries the same lick of paint. Suzuka Grey takes up the majority of the body while Mythos Black and Misano Red both highlight various components. All 24 units come standard with the technical package which is comprised of magnetic ride height, dynamic steering, laser lighting and adaptive damper control.
Front splitter, mirror cases, rear wing and diffuser, are constructed from carbon fibre and finished in high-gloss whereas side blades are finished in matte black with the ‘R8 24’ logo. Underneath the new diffuser is black tailpipes and on each corner of the vehicle are 20-inch ‘Y-patterned’ forged aluminium rims covered in performance rubber.
No limited edition would be complete without a jazzed-up interior. Rotor grey is the colour of choice to cover both seats while alcantara lines the roof. Upon opening the door, ‘R8 24h’ is illuminated paired with each serial number. Gloss finished carbon fibre plastic takes shape in the air vents and spreads its way across to surround the luscious Audi Virtual Cockpit.
No engine changes to report on, remember that the V8 has still been phased out and the R8 is solely powered by a 5.2-litre 10 cylinder petrol motor, spreading 610 horsepower to all four wheels via Audi’s ingenious Quattro system. 0-100 km/h is achieved in just 3.2 seconds and 330 km/h is where the speedometer electronically caps out.
This limited edition Audi R8 will make its debut right where it took its first win. Pre-orders began a few days ago so there’s a chance one or two are left, prices start at $261,000 (approx. AED 958,692) in Germany.
