RTA Premium Plates Online Auction Announced In Dubai: Here Is How You Can Participate

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced an online auction for premium number plates for private vehicles. A total of 350 plates are included in the auction, all of which are exclusively available online. Bidding for these plates will take place on the RTA website and the Dubai Drive App.

Premium Plate Details

The auction offers fancy number plates ranging from 3 to 5 digits, further categorized by the following codes: G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W. The highlight of the auction includes the super licensing plates (V 1115) and (O 929), priced at AED 32,000 and AED 140,000, respectively. Here is the complete list of plates that are part of the auction.

When Is The Auction?

Registration of bidders for this online auction started on 13 November 2023. The bidding opens at 08:00 am on 20 November 2023 and continues for five days. As mentioned earlier, the auction is conducted on the RTA’s website and Dubai Drive mobile app.

How To Bid?

Registration for the auction can be done via the RTA website, the “RTA Dubai Drive” smartphone app or by visiting the Customer Happiness Centers.

Online Registration: If you already have an existing RTA account, please proceed to log in. Otherwise, you will need to open a new RTA account to participate in the auction. Once logged in, navigate to the auction section on the homepage and enter the required details to register for the auction.

Bidding: After completing the registration, go to ‘Licensing and Services’ and select ‘Request for Special Plate.’ Click on ‘Electronic Auction’ on the subsequent page to begin bidding for your preferred numbers.

Terms & Conditions

All online auction participants must have an account on www.rta.ae. Use the ‘New User’ link to obtain a username and password. New users must have A vehicle registered in Dubai or a driving license issued in Dubai.

The auction deposit is AED 5,000, payable either by depositing a cheque of AED 5,000 plus an AED 120 participation fee at customer happiness centres (Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira) or by credit card with the same amount, including the AED 120 participation fee, on the auction website. The participation fee is non-refundable. A 5% VAT will be applied to the sold number plates.

The successful bidder is required to settle the bid amount within 10 days after the auction closes. Payments can be made through various channels: service provider centres (cash or credit card), RTA customer happiness centres (cash up to AED 50,000, Manager’s Cheque, or credit card for amounts above AED 50,000), or the website (credit card). Failure to make the payment within the specified timeframe will result in the participant being placed on the ‘uncommitted’ list.
