We’ve already seen three Mercedes-Benz vehicles slightly modified by German tuning house Brabus. Originally starting off as Mercedes C63, G500, and S600 models, they reworked the engine to produce monumental amounts of horsepower and slapped on a body kit to complete the look.
Their latest modification project has found its base in the guise of a GLE 63 SUV. Normally packed with a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol motor pumping out 585 horsepower. Brabus have ripped off the standard turbochargers, replaced them with ones with a higher compression unit and added intake pipes lined with gold heat shields for an increased output.
Horsepower increases by 115 to a very healthy 690 hp. With such an output, sprint times drop to just 4 seconds whilst top speed increases to 300 km/h an hour. Torque is bumped up to 960 Nm.
If by any chance that just isn’t enough to fill you high-performance kick, Brabus also offer another package. 850 is what you need to ask for. This will give your SUV 838 horsepower and 1,450 Nm of torque. That breaks into supercar territory, Ferrari F12’s only have 740 hp and 690 Nm of torque.
With all that power in both packages, you might as well take the SUV down to the Dubai Autodrome or Yas Marina Circuit and have a little fun smoking Porsche’s, Ferrari’s, Corvette’s and everything in between. As absolutely insane as it is, it’s still capable of moving five occupants around town and packed with luxurious options. Cooled front seats, navigation, dual screen rear entertainment system
As absolutely insane as it is, it’s still capable of moving five occupants around town and packed with luxurious options. Cooled front seats, navigation, dual-screen rear entertainment system, dual sunroof, cruise control, Bluetooth and paddle shifters behind the wheel.
The tuning house has, of course, added some interior options of their own including covering each seats in premium leather with contrasting stitching, headrest with what package is equipped sewn into them and branded alloy pedals.
No Brabus tuned engine would be complete without an added body kit comprised of carbon fibre aero inserts, front splitter, air intakes on either side, rear diffuser and more. Any exterior addition hasn’t affected any of its features such as parking sensors, cameras, roof rails and so on. Standard rims have been swapped out for larger, more performance orientated ones. Of which two styles appear to be on offer.
