Land Rover has revealed the 2024 Range Rover with several changes to the model lineup. The powertrain on some of these variants has been uprated to produce more power and therefore, the 2024 Range Rover boasts stellar performance figures. In fact, the 2024 Range Rover SV is now the most powerful SUV in its class!
In the 1960s, Several innovations and unique features placed the Range Rover on a higher pedestal than its competitors to the extent that its immediate competition came from a segment below! More than half a century later, the Land Rover Range Rover is still king of the hill. With the 2024 update, the large & luxurious SUV seems set to stay at the top for years to come.
2024 Range Rover Design & Styling
The current-gen Range Rover was launched only in 2022 and therefore the styling was already modern to begin with. Hence, the design hasn’t been updated. However, there is an update on the styling front for the SV variant.
The Range Rover SV is the variant produced by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division of Jaguar Land Rover. This division has produced many special vehicle variants for JLR over the years and the 2024 Range Rover SV is the latest. For the 2024 model year, there is an SV Bespoke customisation service on offer. Buyers can pick any colour they fancy and their Range Rover SV will be painted in that exact paint scheme.
There are multiple paint finishes on offer along with hundreds of colours to choose from. Buyers can also pick custom scripts for the bonnet and tailgate in a range of materials, including Gold. We certainly see the SV Bespoke service becoming a hot favourite in the UAE. This service is only available on the SV & SV Autobiography variants of the Range Rover.
2024 Range Rover Interior & Features
The overall layout of the interior has been carried over from the current model. However, there are a few changes in the details. The biggest change comes in the form of an updated Pivi Pro infotainment system. With more intuitive controls, the new Pivi Pro is available on the 13.1-inch touchscreen.
Buyers already have the option to pick from a few colour themes for the interior. However, when the SV Bespoke customisation scheme is applied, the interior can be decked in any colour imaginable. There are also several materials to choose from. Whether one wants to go for a sporty carbon fibre-themed interior or a more stately wood-finish theme, everything is now possible.
2024 Range Rover Engine Options & Performance
The biggest update for 2024 comes in the form of updates to the powertrain options on the Range Rover. The three engine options from the current Range Rover have been carried forward to the 2024 model. The base engine option remains unchanged — a 3.0-litre inline-six-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine that pushes out 395hp and 550Nm.
However, the mid-range PHEV and the top-spec turbocharged V8 have been updated for more oomph! The PHEV variant continues to be powered by the same combination of an electric motor and the 3.0-litre inline-six-cylinder. However, the combined output now stands at 542hp and as a result, the 0-100km/h time drops to 4.8 seconds.
For the environmentally conscious, the PHEV can now do 82 kilometres in pure electric mode. So, your commute is sorted without even starting the engine, and you still have 542hp on tap when you want to go supercar-hunting at the red lights! The 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 now gains mild-hybrid technology to make it ever so slightly more fuel efficient.
The SV version, though, gets the best of an engine. It is the same BMW-derived 4.4-litre V8 engine, but the output has been dialed up to 606hp. With this engine option, the luxurious SUV would put most performance sedans and some supercars to shame, as it is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in about four seconds.
With this engine option, the Range Rover is now among the most powerful SUVs in the world, only behind the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga W12 & Ferrari Purosangue. However, it is the most powerful SUV in the world that is also very capable off-road.
2024 Range Rover Driving Dynamics & Off-Road Ability
Driving dynamics too are now improved. The SUV now features Dynamic Response Pro, which was until now only limited to the Range Rover Sport. This allows for better handling prowess in the corners. It is a Range Rover at the end of the day and it has to be capable enough off-road to have that badge.
The new Range Rover features off-road cruise control, which automatically detects the obstacles ahead and the type of terrain benign driven on and then changes the throttle and brake maps accordingly. This is part of the new Terrain Response 2 system.
The new Land Rover Range Rover is expected to be launched towards the end of 2023, but pre-bookings will open a couple of months ahead of the launch. Prices are expected to start at around AED 600,000 while the SV Autobiography with the SV Bespoke package is expected to cross the AED 1 Million mark.
While the 2024 Range Rover is still a few months away, you can check out various models of the new Range Rover for sale in the UAE and used Range Rover for sale in the UAE.
