Sometime last year, unofficial renderings of a four-door Suzuki Jimny surfaced and were created for a Russian publication. This was based purely on speculation. However, there might be some evidence that it is on the way.
According to a Suzuki insider, AutocarIndia claims a four-door version of the Jimny is in development and will launch in the Indian and surrounding markets as early as December 2020.
The model might not make hot to European shores, but the surrounding market may include the UAE and other Gulf States.
Maruti Suzuki Hasalpur Factory in Gujarat will be in charge of building the four-door Jimny.
While not much has been revealed about the model, it is expected to utilize the same ladder-frame chassis, suspensions setup, four-wheel-drive system, and low-range transfer case as the two-door model.
The only differences that are easy to spot are the two extra doors and the extended wheelbase.
All of these will ensure the model with two-extra doors maintains its off-road capabilities.
No changes are expected in terms of performance, and the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol is also likely to return.
Pricing is not yet known.
Dubicars has new Suzuki Jimny and used Suzuki Jimny for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
