Most of us will have to wait a while to get our hands on a First Edition Supra. However, one lucky bidder may soon already have one delivered straight to their doorstep after paying a staggering amount of money!
Selling for a whopping $2.1 million all the proceeds from the sale go straight to the American Heart Association (AHA) and Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF). We take our hats off to you Barret-Jackson.
What makes this First Edition Supra so special?
Not only did it sell for an insane amount at auction, but this particular First Edition Supra is also “unlike” any other.
For a start, it’s nicknamed Global #1, it’s the only Supra with a VIN that ends in 20201 and it’s finished in a one-off colour.
Speaking of which, the exterior is coated in a matte grey finish also known as “Phantom Matte”. On top of that mirror caps are red and the wheels are finished in matte black.
Inside, the special Supra is fitted with red interior and carbon-fibre inserts.
Are there any mechanical changes?
In the Japanese market, the Supra can be had with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a choice of two outputs.
Elsewhere, no matter the trim level or edition, the 2020 Supra comes with a BMW-sourced 3.0-litre straight-six turbo. It’s rated at 335 horsepower and connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
