The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced that from January 1st, 2020, all vehicles registered in Dubai must be fitted with the new number plates.
When the clock strikes midnight on the 1st of January 2019, anyone registering a new or used vehicle in Dubai will automatically be given the new number plates.
Vehicles that are registered as part of a company or government department can start acquiring plates from July 2019.
What are new number plates in Dubai?
You may have spotted them on the road here and there as they feature a new design, smaller letter, and larger digits.
They are available in two varieties, with one being white with black text and numbers, and a more vivid one which features blue and pink Dubai lettering.
