A new Salik toll gate will start operating on Shaikh Zayed road this October the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced today (18.7.2018).
Located on one of Dubai’s biggest highways, once active, it will be the seventh toll gate in the Emirate of Dubai. Situated close to Energy Metro Station, construction is underway and will deduct toll from commuters on both sides of the roads. Once the gate is operational, traffic is expected to ease on the busy highway with alternative routes being Yalayis road and other parallel freeways.
Motorists coming from Abu Dhabi will have an alternative Salik free route once the seventh interchange opens later this year on the 15th of September.
The other six Salik gates are in Al Barsha, Al Safa, Al Maktoum, Al Garhoud, Mamzar and Airport Tunnel. The new Salik toll gate will start deducting tolls from the 24th of October.
