13 years ago, the Blazer nameplate was put to rest by Chevrolet, but this past week, the American manufacturer has resurrected it in the guise of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer.
Slotting in between the Chevrolet Traverse and Equinox, the new Blazer borrows from the youthful Camaro with sharp LED headlights and bold front grille. With a floating roofline thanks to black pillars, the rear end features LED lit taillights and quad exhaust outlets. As standard, the model is fitted with 18-inch rims and go all the way to 21-inches for top-tier trims.
Regarding seating, the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is purely a five-seater with the rear seats able to slide backwards or forwards by 13.9 CM to increase legroom or cargo space if required. RS and Premier models come standard with a Cargo Management System which is comprised of a rail system and cargo net to keep smaller items in place.
The cabin slightly echoes that of the new Camaro and can be fitted with an array of features including adaptive cruise control, wireless charger, rear camera mirror and more. As for the infotainment system, all variants of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer come with an 8-inch diagonal colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The all-new Chevrolet Blazer turns up the heat next year with pricing to be announced closer to the end of 2018.
When that day arrives, the new Blazer will be offered with two distinct engines; a 2.5-litre inline-four good for 193 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque and a 3.6-litre V6 rated at 305 hp and 365 Nm of torque. Both are mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox, and Traction Select is standard across the board, this allows the drivers to make real-time adjustments to the vehicles driving mode.
RS and Premier trim levels are fitted with an uprated twin-clutch AWD system which Chevrolet claim provides better performance wet conditions and increased stability in dry weather.
