Tesla Motors is currently building their latest Roadster electric vehicle with a speculated 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 1.9 seconds! With the automotive world up in arms about this, a Japanese car known merely as the Aspark Owl EV has already beaten the American brand.
Seeing is believing right? The only confirmation we have about the new Tesla’s feat is a few characters on the internet straight from the horse’s mouth. Elon Musk is a man of his word launching a car into outer space and building a flamethrower and what not; physical evidence is what we need to see in order to believe such a feat.
Luckily for us, an actual video of the Aspark Owl EV has surfaced showing off the arduous task in the 1.9-second window.
Albeit It’s achieved on a rather short bit of tarmac, the new electric car appears to achieve the time with relative ease.
We’re quite sure Mr Musk has seen the video and is working on an even quicker roadster as we speak
Aspark Owl EV what now?
Last year, Aspark unveiled plans to launch an entirely electric sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Benefiting from two 40 kW motors, 429 horsepower and 727Nm of torque rapidly moves to all four wheels to achieve this impressive time. But that’s not all, the vehicle itself weighs just 850 kilos and stands only 990 mm tall.
Being quick from 0 to 100 km/h isn’t for everyone as the Aspark Owl EV will reportedly have a limited run of just 50 vehicles for the world to fight for, that is of course if they are even sold outside of Japan.
