This year’s Detroit Motor Show played host to the next generation of vehicles heading to showrooms in the near future. Included in the dozens on show; the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta made its debut with new underpinnings and an alluring exterior sure to be on everyone’s to buy list.
Borrowing key styling elements from various VW concepts and the new Arteon, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta shows off a sharp front end complete with sleek LED headlights flanking either side of the bold chrome grille. The rear end also receives its fair share as new taillights, exhaust outlets and a smoothed out lines are evident.
Entering its seventh generation, the interior is filled with sharper lines and softer materials. VW offer customers a wide range of seat fabric and designs while the cockpit can be equipped with ambient mood lighting with up to ten unique colours to choose from. Higher trims; SEL and SEL Premium are fitted with a Digital Cockpit Display.
Safety plays a vital role in the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta as the four-door sedan can be equipped with forward collision warning, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking just to name a few.
2019 Volkswagen Jetta; new look, familiar power
Power comes courtesy of a 1.4-litre four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine. Identical to the current model, 147 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque is pushed towards the front end. Reports suggest a GLI version is on the table which is said to deliver an additional kick.
Base models are equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox with an eight-speed automatic gearbox available too. An eight-speed box is optionally extra on lower trims and is standard on higher trim levels.
2019 Volkswagen Jetta models are expected to launch in the UAE and surrounding GCC countries early 2019.
