A strange Tesla Model 3 saloon has been spotted at the company’s test track. Is this car the real deal or is someone playing a cruel trick on us?
When asked about the ‘new’ Telsa Model 3, Elon Musk somewhat confirmed this isn’t someone fitting a superior braking system saying “Probably next year” in regards to when to expect the model.
While little is known about the enhanced model, bright red brake callipers are clearly visible hidden behind sleek alloy rims.
No matter what cosmetic enhancements Telsa add, driving each corner, Telsa is expected to implement a similar dual motor system to increase performance.
Not a word has been spoken of performance numbers. However, current rear-wheel-drive Tesla Model 3 vehicles sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and can cover 499 km on a single charge.
Expect those numbers to change with an all-wheel-drive system fitted, and potential larger battery for increased range.
There is more to this Telsa Model 3 than meets the eye
One lucky onlooker did have a chance to snap a video of the model being tested, and it’s evident, the four-door vehicle is quicker in a straight line compared to standard models.
Tesla is currently building base model Tesla Model 3’s which could take some time to complete and adding a performance version to the mix would kick up a fuss if put into production now. Although there is speculation, the enhanced version could be available mid-2018.
