We last caught a glimpse of the new Mercedes CLS earlier in the year with new headlights on show and covered in heavy camo. These latest shots give us a clearer picture of what to expect as much of the pesky cladding has been dropped.
The Mercedes CLS which has been spotted in the wild appears to be an AMG variant as a larger front grille is evident and is all too familiar to those found on current AMG models.
Larger air intakes are visible as is the traditional sloping roofline which elegantly flows towards the rear which is highlighted by slimmer LED taillights similar to the ones found on Mercedes coupe models.
We’re aware the model will ride on the MRA platform that can also be found hiding underneath the new E-Class.
This gives the next generation Mercedes CLS a longer and wider appearance compared to current versions.
When will the next-gen Mercedes CLS launch?
As of writing, Mercedes have kept a tight lip on when to expect the model to enter various markets around the globe.
Reports suggest these models will debut sometime next year and will launch as a 2018/2019 model. We’ll wait for official confirmation on that part though.
Stay tuned over the coming months for a full reveal and don’t be surprised if the model rocks up later this month in Frankfurt alongside refreshed S-Class coupes and limited edition G-Wagen.
