Last year, Lamborghini revealed the Aventador S to succeed the standard Aventador lineup. During this time, there was no mention of the convertible version leaving many wondering what the Raging Bull has planned. Almost one year later, they’ve finally revealed the 2018 Aventador S Roadster.
Barieng identical light revisions found on closed top models including front and rear bumpers, there is of course one unique feature is the removable roof panel.
Weighing in at just six kilos, customers can have their roof finished in matte black carbon fibre, high gloss black or shiny visible carbon fibre. As it is a manual fixture, the unit can be easily removed and stowed away in the front storage compartment.
No loss of power for the 2018 Aventador S Roadster
Due to the roof being removed, Lamborghini’s Aventador S Roadster weighs in 50 kilos heavier compared to fixed roof models. Power is drawn from the traditional 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, this allows the roadster to accelerate to 100 in a mere three seconds thanks to 730 horsepower flowing to each corner.
With the roof bolted in place, those you just can’t enough of V12’s noise can operate the rear window with a press of a button.
Drivers are treated to a standard set of carbon ceramic brakes hiding behind 20/21-inch alloys covered in Pirelli performance rubber, TFT digital dashboard and updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay capabilities.
Elsewhere, 2018 Aventador S Roadster models benefit from four-wheel steering, updated software in the ESC, revised driving modes and minor tweaks to the suspension.
Sales are expected to commence early 2018 with prices in Europe starting at €313,666 or AED 1,373,796.
