It’s official! This is the new 2018 BMW M5. We’ve seen countless teases and even a set of leaked images of the four-door beast surface over the past few months. It’s here and ready to dominate.
From the outside, the model doesn’t just bare an M5 badge to set itself apart from standard 5-Series BMW’s. A muscular aluminium hood, aggressive front fascia, quad exhaust, exclusive rear bumper and carbon fibre reinforced roof help create a bespoke package.
Inside, the model is equipped with an M Sport steering wheel, unique aluminium trim and Merino leather bucket seats. This is all complimented by state-of-the-art multimedia options, comfort features and the latest iDrive onboard computer system.
New BMW M5 models are shipped with 19-inch alloys finished in Orbit Gray and are surrounded by M-Specific tyres. Of course, these can be exchanged for an optional set of 20-inch alloys with Carbon Ceramic brake calipers which in turn reduces the vehicle’s weight by 23 kilos.
As we’ve previously posted, the petrol engine does indeed pump out close to 600 horsepower resulting in a lighting quick 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.4 seconds. Its top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h, but upgrade to the M Driver’s Package, and you can push it to 305 km/h.
2018 BMW M5 sedans will be available to order in September 2017. Prices on home soil start at €117,900 or AED 511,196. Deliveries are expected for early 2018.
A special edition.
Early customers can upgrade their 2018 BMW M5 pre-order to a First Edition. To differentiate the two models, Frozen Dark Red Metallic with black accents covers the executive four-door beast with 20-inch alloys finished in black.
Inside, owners are treated to a unique numbered plaque, black piano trim and M multifunction seats.
Production numbers for the First Edition are limited to just 400 units and cost an additional €19,500 or AED 84,489.
