It’s not long now until the Mercedes X-Class pickup makes its worldwide debut and just before the date, Mercedes have dropped a teaser online giving us a quick glimpse of what to expect.
If you were expecting a sleek exterior similar to that of the concept, you may be surprised that the X-Class appears to be tuned to cater to the worksite more than the mall with a butch exterior. Also visible in the video is a sports roll bar bolted behind the rear doors and vertical taillights instead of the full surround ones found on the concept.
Although it’s much more rugged compared to its initial drawings, you can bank on the Mercedes X-Class to be slightly more luxurious compared to rivals as in the end of the day, it’s a Mercedes-Benz.
It still remains a mystery if Mercedes X-Class pickups will be on sale in the UAE and the rest of GCC with the German manufacturer confirming select markets that also omits the United States.
It would be a shame if the model doesn’t make it to Middle Eastern shores as there are plenty of rivals to do battle with including the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok and the market-leading Toyota Hilux. Then again, you could always import one.
Mark July 18th 2017 in your diary as that’s when the model is set to make a full reveal and before then, you can check out the official video below.
