When you think of sports cars, Jaguar, Porsche, Maserati and a fair few others spring to mind. You wouldn’t have thought MG would be part of that list would you? Now you can, as the MG E-Motion Concept is on its way.
Debuting as a concept at the recent Shanghai motor show, SAIC has yet to confirm the model, however, MG is confident they’ll get the green light and have the MG E-Motion in production in 2020.
Limited details of the MG E-Motion are known with the brand confirming an all-electric powertrain propelling the vehicle from standstill to 100 km/h in under four seconds and a single change will have the MG E-Motions driving around for just under 500 km.
MG plans to keep the E-Motion production vehicle as close as possible to the concept when it launches in the coming years. Which we hope will be the case as we just can’t get enough of that enlarged front grille with subtle headlights on each side.
We also hope that the rear end will stick with the low sloping rear window, vertical taillights and rear bumper design.
Inside, MG has kept a tight lip what to expect even though we can clearly see four seats inside.
While the MG E-Motion is still a couple of years away, MG will release more information about the model between now and 2020. Until then, we’ll just have to live with these concept images.
