It’s finally here; the 2017 Ford Raptor is officially for sale across the Emirates. It’s lighter, tougher, smarter and it’s got a smaller engine to complete the package.
Instead of the powerful V8, 2017 Ford Raptor trucks are equipped with a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 motor rated at a respectable 421 horsepower and 678 Nm of torque. It’s also bundled with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
For those worried the new engine won’t be as powerful as the V8, the EcoBoost produces 39 more horsepower and 103 more torque all while being more economical on fuel.
Not only does it sport a new engine, but Ford has also updated a few details here and there to create a menacing package. The American brand has enlarged the front grille and plastered large Ford lettering for starters.
As with the updated F-150, the desert machine rides on a high-strength steel frame with an aluminium body to save up to 226 kilos in weight compared to the outgoing model. The new engine also contributes to the weight loss.
2017 Ford Raptor pickups start at AED 220,000 and top out at AED 325,000. Each model can be had with off-road BF Goodrich tyres for each corner, 17-inch alloys and dual exhaust tips sticking out of the rear end.
That’s not all; multiple cameras can be equipped from the factory along with parking sensors, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, premium sound system, power seats and much more.
