Both Kia and Hyundai are preparing to launch a sub-compact crossover within the ext few years, we’ve caught of Kia’s version making the rounds with heavy camouflage in tow.
Said to be named the Kia Stonic, the South Korean vehicle is smaller than the Sportage and is set to challenge the Nissan Kicks, Fiat 500X, Renault Captur and many others as the crossovers segment is booming!
While the vehicle is smothered in heavy camo, the Kia Stonic’s A-pillar and front wheel arch are visible. Around the back, the latest car appears to have the same rear lights as the Kia Rio, and its said, the Stonic will use the same platform as the hatchback.
Drivetrains remain a mystery, however, seeing as its rivals and SUV family members are front-wheel drive in base trim, expect the Kia Stonic to also ship with this layout and AWD drive as an optional extra.
Powering the wheels also remains unknown with sources indicating a potential range of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol motors rated similar to its rivals.
In terms of features, you can expect up-to-date safety technologies, connectivity features along with all the basic options found across the Kia range including AUX and USB inputs.
Upcoming Kia Stonic models are rumoured to shed the camo by the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year and will probably show up at the LA Motor Show to.
Until the vehicle debuts in the coming months, we’ve got new Kia and used Kia for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
