Rumour has it; the 2018 Land Rover Discovery is set to make its Middle Eastern debut right here in the UAE? But where could it be?
Taking over from the Land Rover LR4 model, the Discovery ditched the boxy shape and instead went for a smoother circular appearance which also happens to be the brand’s current style.
Adoring each corner is a set of 21-inch alloy rims with elongated vertical tail lamps prominently showing off the rear end. Inside, the Discovery continues to receive a Range Rover inspired steering wheel with cruise control, volume functions and various other controls, an upgraded centrally mounted interface and climate control dials underneath.
The centre column hosts the brand’s multi offroad selector and buttons to regulate speed and height as well as a circular gear knob.
Powering all four wheels is the brand’s potent 3-litre supercharged V6 motor rated at 450 Nm of torque and 340 horsepower respectively. Mated to an automatic gearbox, the 2018 Land Rover Discovery is able to hit 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.
2018 Land Rover Discovery models are scheduled to launch this weekend with sources indicating the launch will take place on Kite Beach right here in Dubai. It’s unknown if this event is open to the general public.
Prices are said to start at AED 237,000 for the base “S” trim with the full option “First Edition” priced at AED 324,000.
