Another successful year has passed for the boxy Nissan Patrol Super Safari which continues to be a fan favourite across the GCC. But, there has always been a fair few features or two missing from the rugged offroader.
2017 spec is where that’s all about to change with drastic changes inside the cockpit and minor additions to the exterior.
As you can probably tell, there are slight modifications to the vehicles overall appearance. There is a new spoiler mounted on the rear, a set of exclusive 17-inch rims, enlarged fenders, “Super Safari” stickers, custom two-tone paint and extended fenders.
The massive changes are inside! Instead of the standard stereo system, Nissan has updated the centre console of the Patrol Super Safari with a fully functioning media display.
Navigation, Bluetooth pairing, AUX, USB, powered front seats and automatic climate control which have all been requested numerous times over the years have found their way inside.
On top of that is the introduction of a reverse camera and parking sensors at each end to the rugged off-roaders exterior.
Of course, the options list doesn’t stop there. Nissan is extending the options range to include an electric front winch, tow hooks for each end and rear locking differentials.
Underneath the bonnet is a 4.8-litre straight six-cylinder petrol motor powering all four wheels. Rated at 280 horsepower and 451 Nm of torque, a 5-speed automatic box is confirmed as of now with no doubt, the successful manual transmission is set to return.
2017 Nissan Patrol Super Safari models are set to launch later this month or early March with a base price of AED 181,000 right here in the UAE with similar price brackets across the GCC.
