After last year’s launch of the desirable M2, later this year we’ll see a Performance kit added to the 2017 BMW M2 lineup to aid those looking for the ultimate track day machine.
2017 BMW M2 Performance models are covered in Alpine white with black accents places including the iconic double kidney grille, mirror houses and side air vents.
Inside, these models aren’t as complicated as standard M2’s with no power seats or premium sound system, smokers package not on the options list and there is only single-zone climate control.
No changes are made to the drivetrain or power unit with the standard 3-litre straight-six 365 horsepower petrol motor powering the rear wheels via a dual-clutch automatic gearbox or a much-desired manual box.
With an M Performance exhaust system and titanium tips to complete the package, these unique M2’s can cruise at 270 km/h instead of 250 km/h.
These select models will also benefit from M Performance coil over suspension to enhance the ride of the vehicle.
Only 150 2017 BMW M2 Performance Editions will roll out of the factory with each and everyone destined for the US. There is a slim chance one or two may be imported to the UAE.
