Detroit is in full swing at the moment, with new arrivals and redesigned models hitting the show faster than you can get your shawarma delivered! The latest model to stun the crowds is the 2018 GMC Terrain.
Updated after a few years of boxiness, the 2018 GMC Terrain retains some of its squared shape but brings new life to the model with its blacked out c-pillar giving the roof a floating stance, sharper headlights and massive front grille.
When the 2018 GMC Terrain hits showroom floors across the globe, there are three engine choices to choose from. Petrol motors include a 1.5-litre and 2-litre turbocharged units mated to an excellent selection of two 9-speed automatic gearboxes to power all four wheels. If diesel is your fossil fuel of choice, a single 1.6-litre turbocharged motor is to be made available two.
1.5-litre models pump out 170 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque whereas the 2-litre models are rated at 252 hp and 353 Nm or torque respectively.
It’s not just the exterior and engine that have been updated. Inside, GMC adds lightweight aluminium trim to the list along with a 7 or 8-inch infotainment system complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Denali models benefit from those options plus BOSE premium sound system and a hands-free powered boot.
Other noteworthy options include lane-keep assist, low-speed forward automatic braking, forward collision alert and upgraded blind spot detection mirrors.
Pricing and launch date for the revamped 2018 GMC Terrain has yet to be revealed, but as always stay tuned as we’ll have the information as soon as we get wind of it.
