Kia is no stranger to teasing their upcoming products. Whether it’s a short video or a sketch they’ve almost done it all. Earlier in the year, this is how we found out about the 2017 Kia Rio, and now it’s the same why we are finding out about the new Kia Picanto. In Sketch form that is.
Way back in 2011 is when the current Kia Picanto’s style launched and it’s about time for a refresh to the affordable hatchback. Immediately from the sketches, the vehicle fits in today’s hot hatch society. The Kia Picanto sketched certainly doesn’t show base trim versions as hinted by the red accents, xenon paired LED lights, aggressive aero package and red accents, what you’re looking out here could be a GT trim version to join the South Korean badges new GT lineup.
Engine displacements are said to remain similar with either a 1 or 1.2-litre petrol motor powering the front wheels. Don’t let its size fool you though as you can expect the interior to be fitted with the latest technology, infotainment system and safety options across the lineup.
Updated Kia Picanto models are set to debut not at Detroit (bit of a surprise right?) but later in 2017 at an equally large Motor Show. No price tag has been revealed so we’ll have to wait for that too.
