Last month, the 2017 Kia Soul was spotted navigating its way through the Ameican Desert. Covered in dense camouflage, here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come.
New front and rear bumpers are attached to breathe a breath of fresh air onto the vehicle as well as a new set of 18-inch alloys adorning each corner and LED rear lights. Kia also offers a tailor-made optional package named Style Up. Inclusive of a white roof, red highlights at the front and rear and larger wheels. Inside, the package doesn’t much apart from a steering wheel with a flat bottom.
New Kia Soul models will make their grand debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor show instead of in Paris as that’s where the all-new Kia Rio will debut. Updated models are to receive an enhanced six-speed automatic gearbox as standard, and that is not only mechanical piece to be upgraded as the suspension and steering are tuned for a better experience.
As for the engines, both the 1.6 and 2-litre four cylinder motors carry own from 2016 trim with outputs of 138 and 164 horsepower a piece. Mounted on the steering wheel inside is a new drive mode selector with three modes to choose from; Eco, Normal and Sport. Kia hasn’t mentioned if the Soul will get a GT version in the near future.
Other than that, the interior is virtually identical to the outgoing car except for the upgraded infotainment system and optional two-tone upholstery.
