BMW 8 series to arrive in 2020

It’s not just the Dubai Expo that’s a monumental occasion happening in 2020, we’ll also see the revival of the BMW 8-series which is set to return. No price or official release date is known as of now and there is a possibility they could arrive as early as late 2019.

Said to be available in a multitude of body styles including a sedan, coupe and convertible. When the German manufacturer rolls all three models, it could leave another German rival quaking in their boots i.e., Mercedes-Benz.

Reports suggest that the upcoming luxury series is to utilise BMW’s CLAR underpinnings for smooth and comfortable ride. Additionally, those same transcripts point towards a wide variety of engines including twin-turbo V8’s with unknown displacements and an estimated range-topping output of 650 horses. V6’s are certainly part of the equation with turbo power and a maximum output of 450 hp.

Rumours also stretch as far as having a plug-in hybrid system coupled with a four or six cylinder petrol motor.

Although BMW hasn’t showcased anything involving the 8-series, we expect it to be packed with the latest and greatest technology and safety gadgets including autonomous features, gesture control, Apple Carplay on top of an ultra lavish interior.

As it comes as good news for most, 6-series fans will be disheartened to learn that the revitalised 8-series will take its place ending the 6-series production run.
