Abu Dhabi police have announced motorists can avail a 25% discount on their traffic or parking fines in the nation’s capital.
The discount will only be applied for fines accumulated in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi including Al Ain and Al Dhafra areas.
To make use of the discount, drivers will have to head over to the happiness centre at the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters in person with the following documents; Emirates ID, drivers license and car registration and then proceed to the fines department.
Once in the fines department, officials will provide a printout to motorists. After that, a form needs to be filled out to transfer the violations to the traffic court.
Once completed, the following day, drivers can visit the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate headquarters to follow up on their application. Once approved, motorists need to head over to the traffic court at the Directorate along with all the documents to get the discount on fines.
Once all of that has been completed, motorists need to submit the receipt to the traffic police to clear the fines.
The Abu Dhabi Traffic Court is open daily from 8 am to 12 pm.
