Is it a current trend now? Do front grille’s need to take up that much space? BMW what have you done! Still, in its second generation, the 2020 Lexus GX has received its second refresh and with it comes a handful of changes.
First and foremost is the front grille, which is actually not even new; it just has a different pattern making it look larger. Apparently, they’ve been steadily increasing the grille size since 2014, and no one has really noticed.
There’s also the addition of new triple-beam LED headlights flanking either side of the grille and are now standard across all trim levels.
New for the 2020 Lexus GX is the optional Off-Road Package. Exclusively available on the Luxury Grade, it adds a transmission cooler, protection for the fuel tank, Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select and multiple cameras.
All of that adds to the vehicles off-road capabilities on trickier terrain, as does the 4.6-litre V8 rated at 301 HP and 446 Nm of torque, which is hooked up to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2020 Lexus GX also gets a Torsen limited-slip differential, four-wheel drive and two-speed transfer case.
In case Off-Roading is not your cup of tea, Lexus will also offer a Sport Design Package. Available on both Premium and Luxury trims, it adds a matte black exhaust tip, darker taillights, an exclusive lower grille surround, rear diffuser and side mirror casings.
Gunmetal metallic 19-inch alloys complete the exterior, while inside one can swap the second-row seats out for captain’s chairs.
Aside from the new Rioja Red leather with black headliner option added alongside the Black, Ecru and Sepia interior palettes, the interior remains identical to the previous model.
As of writing, pricing and availability has not been mentioned.
Dubicars has new Lexus GX and used Lexus GX for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
