Last updated two years ago, the range-topping variant of the A8 family has arrived with a potent motor, subtle upgrades and a luxurious cabin. This is the 2020 Audi S8.
Driving all-four corners of the 2020 S8 is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine rated at 563 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox directing drive to all-four wheels via Audi’s token Quattro system.
Additionally, the engine bay also houses a 48-volt mild hybrid system as standard.
The active suspension system from the A8 is standard on the 2020 Audi S8 albeit slightly tweaked for less body roll. Torque vectoring rear differential and rear-wheel steering are also standard, while carbon- ceramic brakes are part of the long list of extras.
As for visual enhancements, to set the model apart from the A8, the S8 is fitted with unique badges, quad tailpipes, different wheels, and a slender nose.
Inside, the latest S8 gets matte aluminium trim throughout the cockpit along with diamond-stitched seats with S embroidery just under the headrest.
A touchscreen infotainment system is standard as is a touchscreen for the climate control functions, and the Audi Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster. There is also an upper inlay in the cabin comprised of Carbon Vector.
Pricing and availability for the 2020 Audi S8 has not been revealed.
