MG Motor has announced the arrival of the brand new 2019 MG GS in the region. With a number of enhancements, the latest GS takes a significant step forward in a competitive market.
Staring with the exterior, the new GS proudly wears a sporty yet aggressive front end with a redesigned front bumper which not only looks the part but helps improve aerodynamics and is complemented by a larger grille and revised air intakes.
Inside, the 2019 MG GS is fitted with a higher quality finish with many of the hard corners and plastic having been replaced. Over 80 percent of the cabin is now fitted with soft-touch material whereas the previous model only had 30 percent.
Furthermore, consumers will immediately notice the new 8-inch high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system with navigation functions and offline GCC maps. The multi-function steering wheel has also been revised and now offers improved handling and control despite being smaller.
Standard features across models include an electronically operated sunroof, cruise control, push-start engine button, electric folding mirrors, hill-descent control, rear-view camera and rear parking sensors. The new display also supports Apple CarPlay.
The centre console of the 2019 MG GS has also been upgraded and integrates new 360-degree air conditioning vents. The compressor has been updated and is notably quieter and more effective.
The 2019 MG GS is now available across the region in two guises; 2.0T COM and 2.0T LUX AWD. Prices start at $17,200 or AED 63,179, depending on which market.
Both models are fitted with a 2.0T four-cylinder petrol engine good for 221 horsepower and 350Nm of torque. Connected to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, it is available as a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with the latter improving torque distribution faster resulting in a smoother ride compared to the previous model.
Additionally, MG has tweaked the suspension setup increasing the model’s stability and reducing cabin noise.
