2019 Mercedes C63 gets a fresh face and extra gears

With 2019 fast approaching, the time has come for the yearly mid-cycle refresh for a number of vehicles with the latest being the 2019 Mercedes C63 which was first previewed at the New York Auto Show earlier this year.

The first notable change is the new AMG signature “Panamerica” front grille with vertical slats which has been fitted to all variants of the 2019 Mercedes C63, but that’s not all. The interior, transmission, chassis electronics have all been updated as has the aero kit.

The engine remains identical which certainly isn’t a bad thing as the 2019 Mercedes C63 is one of the last of its kind with a V8 under the bonnet. While its competitors are looking at downsizing their motors, the C63 carries on with the 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo borrowed from the AMG GT and pushes out 476 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. S variants are fitted with the same engine but slightly uprated to 510 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque and also has dynamic engine mounts.

Rear wheel drive is standard with the 2019 Mercedes C63 with power being sent to the rear axle via a nine-speed automatic gearbox instead of the previous seven-speed box. With the new gearbox, the Coupe S rockets from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds while the base cabriolet and wagon can hit 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Across the range, top speed ranges from 250 – 290 km/h.

The AMG Dynamic Select system or drive mode selector allows drivers to choose from a variety of modes including Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and an Individual setting. C63 S variants have an additional Race Mode setting. Traction control can now be set at nine different levels and the adaptive dampers have three unique modes.

Other changes include a retuned exhaust system, updated trim, and updated steering rack as well as optional new seats and digital gauges.

Lastly, new for 2019 is the track telematics packages.

Dubicars.com has new Mercedes C-Class and used Mercedes C-Class for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
