Wait, hasn’t Mercedes already unveiled the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G63? No, earlier this year, the German manufacturer unveiled the G550. They may look similar, however, there are a few differences here and there you’ll need to know about to get your G Klasse models correct.
How to spot a 2019 Mercedes-Benz G63?
While the headlights and boxy shape are identical to other 2019 G Klasse models previously revealed, there are key styling elements that are unique to the G63.
Wedged between the redesigned LED headlights is a bespoke front grille and larger air-intakes can be found in the front bumper. Red brake calipers with perforated brakes stand out behind larger alloy rims. An optional AMG Night Package provides owners with tinted headlamps, indicators and rear windows.
Inside, the G63 is identical to the G550.
Regarding power, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G63 will utilise a familiar twin-turbo V8 petrol engine found in numerous Mercedes and even Aston Martin Models.
In terms of performance, the new motor unleashes 577 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque to each corner via the manufacturers latest nine-speed automatic gearbox.
This allows the iconic G-Wagen to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 220 km/h. Not fast enough you say, Mercedes’s AMG Driver’s package raises the bar to 240 km/h.
