Three years ago, Chevy unveiled the third generation Malibu lineup with a fresh look. Fast forward to the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu and the fresh face has been redesigned to ensure a lasting impression.
For 2019 the updated GM product receives a revised grille, headlamps and rear taillights along with new chrome trim, rim designs, unique exhaust outlets and a selection of new colours.
Inside, the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is fitted with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system complete with a new 8-inch touchscreen display. Premier models also have an 8-inch digital dashboard cluster instead of the traditional analogue gauge.
Does the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu also get an RS trim?
Seeing as the popular Chevy Cruze can be had with the RS trim, it seems fitting the Malibu should also receive the same treatment. This includes a dark front grille and Chevrolet logo plus a unique rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets and 18-inch alloys adorning each corner.
The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu RS can only be had with a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine good for 163 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque and is mated to a new CVT.
2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engines are exclusively available with Premier trim levels. With this engine equipped, 250 hp and 352 Nm of torque is transferred to the front axle via a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
