Late last year, we heard the 2018 Kia Rio was to grow in a big way. Not just outside but internally too. After many months of patiently waiting, it has officially arrived in the UAE and other GCC countries.
Those interested in the 2018 Kia Rio are treated to power steering, central locking, cloth seats, USB inputs and 15-inch alloys on each corner as standard.
Higher trim levels benefit from a 5-inch touchscreen audio system, automatic a/c, leather upholstery, 3.5-inch LCD panel located on the instrument panel, fog lights and a choice between 15-inch and 17-inch alloys.
Additionally, the model can be had with keyless start, electronic door mirrors, sliding sunroof, rear parking assist and a rear view camera with guidelines.
On the safety front, 2018 Rio’s have ABS, stability control, brake assist, electronic brake distribution and front airbags for driver and passenger.
Other notable improvements include the ride and size to accommodate larger passengers and offer extra legroom.
Customers can choose between two engines. Either a 1.6-litre or 1.4-litre. Both are inline four cylinders driving the front wheels and are rated at 100 and 123 horsepower respectively. In its most powerful guise, the South Korean hatch launches to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds with a top speed of 180 km/h.
2018 Kia Rio prices start at AED 49,900 with five years or 150,000 kms (whichever happens first) manufacturers warranty.
