While it’s not unusual to see new models spotted in the wild, what is a rare site is seeing one camo free. 2018 Hyundai Kona models have done just that as one Blue example has been spotted in Spain.
Sporting a unique shape, we haven’t seen from Hyundai before; this bold new model instantly imprints an image in your brain with its distinct lighting units, cascading grille and what appears to be a third set of lights mounted underneath.
The rear end does have trace elements of the Tucson with a touch of its own cluster of lights consisting of indicators, reverse and fog lights.
Powering the quirky 2018 Hyundai Kona is a choice of four-cylinder motors with 1-litre and 1.4-litre turbocharged flavours. Hyundai has revealed that all-wheel drive while is optionally available leading us to believe base models will be front-wheel drive.
Inside, the Kona will borrow styling cues from current models including the i30 and Tucson complete with a touchscreen media interface mounted in the centre console.
The South Korean brand is said to unveil the 2018 Hyundai Kona in the next few weeks with the vehicle likely to go on sale later this year to rival the Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and VW’s upcoming T-Roc.
We aren’t 100% sure when this model will roll into Middle Eastern showrooms. When we know exactly, we’ll keep you updated.
In the market for an affordable South Korean vehicle? We’ve got new Hyundai and used Hyundai for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
