Yesterday, we learned the 2018 Challenger Demon would not only ship with a menacing look but also impressive power figures. Now that the vehicle has been officially revealed, they’ll set a new record for the fastest production car.
Based on the already bonkers SRT Hellcat, 2018 Challenger Demon vehicles ship with 840 horsepower, subtle changes to the exterior and interior and a 0-100 time that one thought was impossible in an American coupe.
2.3 seconds is all the 2018 Challenger Demon needs to hit 100 km/h. However, as reported yesterday, the beast won’t ship with 1,000 plus horsepower. Instead, 840 hp is its max output which is still impressive non-the-less.
Challenger Demon models are also the first cars to legally sip on 100+ unleaded high-octane fuel allowing for maximum performance.
Similar to the Hellcat, Demon coupes ship with two key fobs. The first one allows the driver to cruise around with 500 horses bellowing in the engine bay, whereas the second one is finished in red and releases all 840 horses.
Production for the 2018 Challenger Demon starts this summer and is limited to just 3,000 units in the States and 300 pieces for Canada. GM has yet to confirm if the beast will leave North America, but there is no doubt a few will end up on Shaikh Zayed Road.
No price has been confirmed for the 2018 Challenger Demon.
Until it’s official launch in a few months time, we’ve got standard new Dodge Challenger and used Dodge Challenger for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman. There are some Hellcat’s floating around the market too.
