2018 Cayenne emerges from the shadows

After enjoying the dunes of the UAE, Porsche has revealed the 2018 Cayenne before its motor show debut.

While it may not be a radical redesign, there are a handful of fundamental changes to make a note of. Starting from the front end, 2018 Cayenne SUV’s benefit from a lightly refreshed front grille with larger air intakes, a redesigned hood and new daytime running LED’s.

Eagle eye fans may recognise a sportier roof line, smaller rear windows and what appears to be an extended wheelbase.

Around the back, a familiar tail light bar is present which reminds us of the Panamera Sport Turismo.

Inside, 2018 Cayenne models receive a number of enhancements. Starting off with a new dashboard cluster with two unique digital displays and plenty of other state-of-the-art technologies.

However, the real highlight is the large widescreen infotainment system that sits above a refreshed centre console with new digital controls borrowed from the Panamera lineup.

Of course, there are other highlights and returning features including leather upholstery, wood trim and the desirable Sports Chrono Package which not only adds an analogue clock but substantial changes to what hides beneath.

Powering each corner will be a handful of familiar engines borrowed from the Panamera lineup. This includes a turbocharged 3-litre V6 rated at 330 horsepower and a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 packing 440 horses. Eventually, a plug-in hybrid will be made available.

Mark down the 29th of August

Expect full details of the 2018 Cayenne to be revealed later this week.
