It’s a new year and the month of January has flown by us and that means we’ve got a full 11 months left of the year to look forward to refreshed, redesigned and new vehicles in 2018. Last week, the third generation Cayenne launched in the UAE; this week, we welcome the 2018 Camry!
Revealed last year at the North American International Motor Show, the 2018 Camry brings back an old favourite to UAE residents along with a fresh face, a new platform and various tweaks here and there, the eighth generation has started to roll into the county, and with it comes the return of the Camry Grande nameplate returns with a 3.5-litre V6 engine rated at 298 horsepower.
V6 Camry’s have not gone on sale within the UAE since 2006/2007. Select regions continued selling six-cylinder models over the past few years and a dozen or so have found their way into the used car market.
The 2.5-litre four-cylinder model will continue to be sold in the Emirates with 178 horsepower on tap.
The refreshed 2018 Camry plays host to a long list of the latest technology both as standard and optionally available. Just to name a few; an eight-inch multimedia interface with navigation, a seven-inch multi-information display embedded into the instrument cluster. A Qi-standard wireless charger is also on the list.
As for safety, six SRS airbags, Hill-start Assist Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist and an overhauled body and underpinnings with 30% increase in torsional rigidity.
