Entering its third generation, the 2018 BMW X3 is bigger, safer, efficient, more technologically advanced and most importantly, more comfortable than its predecessor.
Riding on an extended wheelbase, the 2018 X3 benefits from a fresh exterior. It is the first X model to proudly wear a three-dimensional double kidney grille complemented by a hexagonal mesh pattern. Around the back, two exhaust pipes sticking out of the rear end and a downward-sloping rear spoiler gives the compact SUV an aggressive appearance.
Inside, owners of the 2018 BMW X3 benefit from a driver-focused cockpit that carefully matches the exterior with its flowing hexagonal patterns and sloping edges. Plus, there’s a broad range of features including cooled front seats, panoramic sunroof and multi-zone automatic climate control.
An optional 10.25-inch display is truly a remarkable centrepiece for the cabin that includes gesture control, voice control and various BMW specific applications. Additionally, you can pair the system with an Apple Watch or Samsung Gear.
Highlighting the interior is a hidden set of ambient lights to illuminate the instrument panel. Furthermore, customers can opt for the Extended Ambient Lighting Package which at night, gives the iDrive system a floating appearance.
Regarding safety, Active Protection is standard which detects a potential accident. If detected, the system closes the sunroof, winds up the windows and tightens the seatbelts of all inside. Other safety features include active cruise control, front collision warning, cross traffic alert, lane departure assist and more.
On top of all that, there is an optional Driving Assitant Plus package that adds evasion aid, cross traffic alert for the front and rear and traffic jam assist.
2018 BMW X3 models will make their live debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
