Shown off earlier in the year in China, the 2017 Renault Koleos has arrived in the UAE and across the GCC with larger proportions, new styling and the underpinnings of much-loved vehicles across the region.
Borrowing the underpinnings of the latest Nissan Pathfinder and X-Trail, the 2017 Renault Koleos now rides 210 mm above the ground, and that’s not all regarding growth. It’s 150 mm longer giving rear passengers extra legroom in the rear which is always a bonus. Drivers now sit 150 mm higher which Renault says gives the driver a better “sense of safety and protection”.
Without leaving the exterior out of the equation, it certainly looks the part in modern times. With its large front grille bearing the brand’s emblem, re-designed highlights with optional LED’s, redesigned rear end complete with dual exhaust tips mounted below.
Inside, the French brand has breathed new life in the cabin with a major overhaul and now includes a range of technological advancements. Media inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, digital air conditioning and a generously sized media screen mounted in the centre console just to name a few.
Prices start at AED 73,400. This consists of three years or 100,000 km of manufacturers warranty. A total of three trim levels are available and if you’re interested Renault have set up a virtual showroom for you to take a “digital tour” of the mid-size SUV.
Available with a front wheel drive setup or an all-wheel drive one, the 2017 Renault Koleos is powered by a 2.5-litre four cylinder motor rated at 170 horsepower and thanks to the brand’s partnership with Nissan, the naturally aspirated engine is hooked up to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
