Debuting back in 2014, Polaris unleashed their mad creation that can only be described as part car part motorcycle and called it the Slingshot. With its three wheel setup and without a roof, all that was available to protect your face from bugs is a helmet or windshield and with only two seats, interior options are scarce.
However, with the latest 2017 models rolling off the production line, Polaris announced a brand new trim that sits above the base and SL trims and an additional roof panel which can be fitted to future and current models of the 3-wheeler.
SLR is the name of choice with forged aluminium rims, larger rear wheel and new Sparco branded interior pieces including the pedal covers, gear lever and steering wheel. Polaris are also offering customers up to 31 accessories exclusive to the model which includes the new roof.
Known as the Slingshade, the new roof panel constructed from lightweight materials can easily be removed and put back in place when needed. In SLR trim, buyers receive open air intakes, a LED interior lighting kit, new brake rotors, unique paint colours and additional decals.
Polaris hasn’t modified the 2.4-litre four cylinder engine leaving it at a healthy 173 horsepower and powering the single rear wheel via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
SLR models hold a price tag $ 28,499 or AED 105,000 new and are available right now.
We currently haven’t got any Slingshot’s listed, but we do have new Polaris RZR XP and used Polaris RZR XP for sale in Abu Dhabi.
