It’s been a long time coming, but the 2017 Nissan GT-R has officially launched across the Middle Eastern region including the UAE where the Japanese brand utilised our home track to unveil the revitalised beast.
Way back in 2007, is where the reinvented GT-R launched in the Middle East with agile handling and 480 horsepower on tap in base models. These machines flooded the market due to its rich heritage, and it did not disappoint.
Fast Forward ten years, Godzilla returns with an all-new look inside and out plus a few minor tweaks underneath the bonnet including an increase in power resulting in 565 hp howling out of the four exhaust pipes.
Inside, Nissan has gone to great lengths to improve simplicity by condensing 27 buttons into 11, adding a larger 8-inch touchscreen multimedia interface with enlarged icons and the climate control dials borrowed from the 2017 Nissan Patrol.
Paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel move closer to allow drivers to change gears mid-turn without stretching out too far, particularly useful for cornering.
Alongside standard models, the Japanese Giant bought along the GT-R Nismo version with 600 horsepower pumping through its veins and a carefully crafted aerodynamic kit supplying an additional 100 kg of downforce at speeds of 300 km/h.
The lineup is completed with a set of unique colour palettes including Blaze Metallic.
