The all new 2017 Mercedes-Benz C63 S coupe is almost here and is still set on knocking the BMW M4 down a peg or two, and the three-pointed badge could take the cake this year with the power exerting itself out the rear end.
Powering the rear wheels is a similar engine to the one found in AMG GT models. 503 horsepower is channelled through and automatic gearbox via a 4.0-litre BiTurbo V8 petrol engine enabling a 0-100 time of fewer than four seconds and an electronically capped top speed of 250 km/h.
Specs like that exceed the ones generated by the 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder petrol motor aided by twin turbo power powering the rear wheels and generating 425 horsepower which is found underneath the M4’s bonnet.
It’s not just the M4 that the Mercedes-Benz currently towers over; Maserati GranTurismo and Lexus RC F are currently floating around below and are nipping at the heels of the Bimmer. Not to mention the recent Cadillac CTS which is ready to pounce at any chance.
Compared to the sedan version of the same name, Mercedes have finely tuned certain aspects of the variations including the steering wheel and suspension to provide a sharper ride.
GCC launch date and price tag has yet to be revealed officially, but when we know more, we’ll keep you in the loop.
