As summer is in full swing around the world with warmer temperatures getting everyone outside unless you live in the MENA region where it is hot enough to cook an egg on the ground, It’s not just limited to people as several manufacturers take this time of year to put their vehicles to the test leading to spy shots filling the net.
The latest model to get snapped is the 2017 Land Rover Discovery, it strikes up a resemblance to the current generation Ford Explorer. Gone is the Boxy shape it may have been known as in previous generations. With Key Land Rover markings the Volvo XC90 and other rivals best be aware that the Discovery will take no prisoners.
New Discovery models will utilise an aluminium unibody similarly to Discovery Sport models which will bring overall weight down. High-strength steel will be incorporated into the structure for extra support.
2017 Land Rover Discovery models are set to debut later this year possibly in Paris or in 2017. Underneath the bonnet is said to be a V6 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine in GCC regions and diesel versions of the same engine in certain parts of the world. Rumours are currently circulating that the V formation and supercharger could be dropped in favour for a straight set up with turbocharged induction borrowed from Ford. A plug-in hybrid could also be added to the lineup in the near future.
