Have you been anticipating the launch of the 2017 Ford Escape? Wait no longer as the model is now available across the region.
As 2017 serves more as a facelift than a complete revamp, Ford has redesigned the front grille with headlights on either side sporting LED strips. Each corner can be decked with a selection of 17-inch or 19-inch alloys with unique finishes.
Inside, buyers of the 2017 Ford Escape will find fewer buttons than the previous model but a more refined interior. Included, is the brand’s token SYNC infotainment system updated for the new model year.
Ford listened to customers who claimed the system could be sluggish at times, so they took it upon themselves to upgrade the system to be quicker and more responsive. They also added new technology including hands-free parking, voice activating smartphone apps and more.
That’s not all. For the first time, 2017 Ford Escape vehicles have full Arabic language support for both text and voice assistance.
GCC spec 2017 Ford Escape models come with two four-cylinder motors. Either a 2-litre or a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Duratec engine. Those powered by the 2-litre have 240 horsepower and 366 Nm of torque whereas the larger motor generates 170 hp and 230 Nm of torque.
Import models have different engines compared to GCC models. These include a 1.5-litre and 2-litre turbocharged units.
Six-speed automatic gearboxes are standard with paddle shifters available behind the steering wheel. Front wheel drive comes as standard.
