2016 Chevrolet Camaro 50th anniversary edition

I hope your party hats and balloons are still floating around. As another huge auto manufacturer celebrates their golden anniversary of one of their most beloved cars. Loved by many, it’s even had its fair share of screen time. We’re talking about none other than the Chevrolet Camaro.

Roll back the clock to the 28th of September 1966. This is when the first Camaro rolled off the production line to do battle with Ford’s ever so popular pony car, the Mustang. Thousands were hooked right there and then. The two still continue to fight to this day for supremacy in their class.

Already with one special edition ready to launch this year, which is the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. Featuring a coat of grey paint and eye-catching light blue stripes, with blue leather interior, it’s quite the stand out automobile. Now that it’s had some time in the limelight, General Motors have turned their attention towards 2016 Chevrolet Camaro model.

Customers can choose between a coupe and convertible covered in Nightfall Grey Metallic, which is exclusive to this model and is the only colour of choice, and it certainly isn’t a bad thing. 20-inch rims on each corner bare 50th-anniversary wheel nuts, unique contrasting stripes on the exterior and Fifty badges on either side and the rear.

Orange brake calipers are found behind those new rims, new front splitter coated in identical paint and a chrome-accented front grille have all been fitted to complete the package.

Inside, options are aplenty along with exotic black leather with suede inserts and vibrant orange stitching. In case you forget what occasion this Camaro celebrates, 50th-anniversary markings appearing on the steering wheel, instrument panel and various other locations.

Engines come in two flavours, either V6 or V8 with power being sent to the rear wheels via an automatic or manual transmission. Presumably, both engines remain unchanged and pump out 335 and 460 horsepower respectively.

No official release date is noted, however Summer 2016 is mentioned giving us a three-month window to speculate it’s launch date. Pricing has yet to be announced.
