Jetour T2 Review

The Jetour T2 is a five-seat SUV with boxy styling, modern cabin technology and four-wheel-drive capability. The UAE range includes the petrol-powered T2 Luxury Plus and the T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid.

Both versions share the same basic design, a 2,800mm wheelbase, and a 580-litre luggage compartment. The Luxury Plus uses a conventional 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the i-DM adds electric motors, a large battery and considerably stronger performance.

The Jetour T2 is designed for buyers who want one SUV for daily commuting, long motorway journeys, camping and recreational off-road driving.

Design & Styling

The Jetour T2 has a bold, upright design inspired by traditional off-road SUVs. Its flat bonnet, squared wheel arches, tall roof, and vertical rear section create a strong road presence. Exterior highlights include illuminated Jetour lettering, LED lighting, roof rails, fixed side steps and a rear-mounted spare wheel.

The SUV measures around 4,785mm long with the spare wheel section, 2,006mm wide, and a 2,800mm wheelbase. The petrol Luxury Plus stands 1,880mm tall and offers 220mm of ground clearance.

Luxury Plus equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive high- and low-beam headlights, LED fog lights, illuminated wheel arch details, an electric suction tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof. The T2 i-DM adds a charging port, hybrid badging, matrix LED headlights, and additional battery protection underneath.

Engine & Performance

The Jetour T2 Luxury Plus uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 254hp and 390Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an intelligent real-time four-wheel-drive system.

The petrol model has a maximum speed of 180km/h. Its conventional powertrain provides steady performance for city driving, motorway cruising and off-road trips.

The Jetour T2 i-DM combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with three electric motors and a dedicated three-speed hybrid transmission. Combined output reaches 600hp and 915Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0–100km/h in 5.5 seconds. Top speed rises to 200km/h.

The i-DM also adds adjustable regenerative braking, battery preheating, an intelligent X driving mode and a tank-turn function.

Fuel Efficiency

The petrol Jetour T2 Luxury Plus has a claimed WLTC combined fuel-consumption figure of approximately 9.58 litres per 100km for the matching 2.0-litre turbo, eight-speed automatic and four-wheel-drive powertrain. This equals around 10.4km/l.

Its 70-litre fuel tank should provide a useful touring range. Actual consumption will depend on traffic, driving speed, air-conditioning use, tyre pressure and off-road conditions.

The T2 i-DM uses a 43.24kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. Its claimed electric range reaches 160km under the WLTC cycle, while the CLTC figure exceeds 200km.

Claimed fuel consumption is 0.8 litres per 100km when starting with a charged battery and 5.4 litres per 100km when the battery is low. Fast charging from 30 to 80 per cent takes around 37 minutes.

Interior & Features

The Jetour T2 has a modern cabin centred around a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor supports the vehicle’s infotainment and connected functions.

Features include wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice control, wireless phone charging and multiple USB and Type-C ports. A 12-speaker Sony audio system, active noise reduction, sound-insulating glass and 64-colour ambient lighting are also included.

The Luxury Plus adds heated and ventilated front seats, driver-seat massage, powered front-seat adjustment and memory functions. Other equipment includes dual-zone climate control, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled cupholders, a rear picnic table, and a 220V luggage-area socket.

The T2 i-DM adds parking air conditioning and vehicle-to-load power for external electrical equipment.

Space & Practicality

The Jetour T2 has a five-seat cabin arranged in a 2+3 layout. Its wide body and upright roofline provide good headroom and shoulder space in both rows.

Luggage capacity is rated at 580 litres, providing enough space for everyday shopping, family travel or camping equipment. The rear seats can be folded to create a larger loading area, while anchor points help secure heavier items.

The boxy body makes the boot easier to use than the sloping luggage areas found in many coupe-style SUVs. Roof rails provide another option for carrying outdoor equipment, while the fixed side steps make cabin access easier.

The petrol Luxury Plus carries a full-size spare wheel. The T2 i-DM uses a smaller spare because additional space is required for its battery and hybrid system. Both models use a 70-litre fuel tank.

Off-Road Capability

The Jetour T2 Luxury Plus offers more than off-road-inspired styling. Its intelligent four-wheel-drive system can adjust power distribution based on the selected road or terrain setting.

Driving modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock. A rear electronic limited-slip differential helps maintain traction when one rear wheel loses grip, while crawl control manages low-speed progress across difficult surfaces.

The T2 also includes hill-start assistance, hill-descent control and a wading detection system. Its transparent chassis display uses cameras to show the area near the front wheels, helping drivers identify rocks, ruts, and other obstacles.

The petrol model offers a 28-degree approach angle, a 30-degree departure angle, and 220mm of ground clearance. The i-DM has more than 200mm of clearance and adds protective guards beneath and around the battery.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The Jetour T2 includes a wide range of active and passive safety features. Equipment includes airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, electronic stability control and rollover mitigation.

Driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure warning. Lane-keeping assistance, rear collision warning, door-opening warning and rear cross-traffic alert are also available.

Traffic Jam Assistance and Integrated Cruise Assistance can support steering, speed and following distance during busy driving conditions. Front and rear parking sensors work with a panoramic camera system to make low-speed manoeuvres easier.

The transparent chassis function is useful when parking or driving off-road. The T2 i-DM also receives matrix LED headlights and ventilated disc brakes at both ends. The petrol Luxury Plus uses ventilated front discs and conventional rear discs.

Verdict

The Jetour T2 combines distinctive styling, a spacious five-seat cabin and useful off-road equipment. Its high driving position, large screens, and broad feature list make it suitable for everyday driving in the UAE.

The petrol Luxury Plus is the more conventional choice. Its 2.0-litre turbo engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, 220mm ground clearance and rear electronic limited-slip differential make it suitable for long journeys and recreational off-road use. It also offers high-end comfort features, including heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats.

The T2 i-DM adds much stronger acceleration, electric-only driving and an external power supply. It is best suited to owners who can charge regularly and want lower potential fuel use. Overall, the Jetour T2 is a well-equipped lifestyle SUV that covers both conventional petrol and plug-in hybrid buyers.
